summary

The authors -desordibe the fates of 2 patients who had fragmentataon of a kidney due to traffic injuries. In one of these patients the situation was particufarly dan-genous sinice the daimaged kidney was the anly one. Tihree years after oibtaining union of the renal fragments with tissue adhesive perirenal abscess and abscess in the upper pole of the kidney developed. The perirenal abscess was evaouated and the upper renal pole was aimiputated. The patient reoovered. In the seoond case course after uniting the ruptured kidney was without complications and renal angiography carried out 3.5 years after the operation was normal. The authors think that suippuraition of the wound and kidney eould be due to tissue reaiction to an excess of tissue adhesive. They think also that the value of the Polish cyan-acrylic tissue adhesive is high in ofotaining union of ruptured kidney.
