summary

At the Department of Urology, Medical Academy in Łódź a groują of 12 pa­tients were observed who had indwelling catheters inserted. The catheters were inserted together with sterile cotton protecting cap oorvering the external outleł of the urethra. The median duration of sterile urine imaintenance without taMng anstibiotics was 14 days.
