- The investigations were performed in 25 inbred rats. The animals were divided into three groups.
- In the first experimental group, denervation of the testis was achieved by excision of the branches of
- testicular plexus, at a distance of about 5 mm along the testicular artery, as well as cutting of the
- ilioinguinalis nad genitofemoralis nerves. In the second experimental group, the operation was per-
- formed twice. After 30 days the animals were sacrificed by decapitation and the testes were stained
- with haematoxylin-eosin according to Mallory, Mc Manus-Hotchkiss, Feulgen and Einarson. We
- demonstrated that the intestitial cells are hyperplastic and their volume greatly increases. In the
- connectice tissue around the canalicules, fibroblasts and fibrocytes profliferate and increase in num-
- ber. After denervation the changes are more pronounced.
