summary
- The results of transuretheral microvawe hyperthermia in 116 BPH patients are
- presented. Better toleration was seen in patients treated with 16 Ch than 22 Ch
- radiators, nevertheless longer treatment time (5 x lh vs 6 x 0,5h). No severe compli-
- cations were observed except of one case of blood transfusion re±uired due to hema-
- turia after treatment with 22Ch diameter radiator. Higher response rate was obse-
- rved in patients with urine retention treated 5 x lh (83%) than 6 x 0,5h (0%). No
- significant differences in treatment outcome were seen in patients without catheter in
- the two groups (5x1 and 6 x 0,5h). No improvement was detected in patients with
- medial lobe enlargement.
