urinary tract urinary diversion IVP. examination

summary

Objective. Upper urinary tract status in 40 patients after urinary diversion has been
analysed.
Material and method. Early (up to 30 days) postoperative IVP has been done on each
patient. 35 patiens underwent cystectomy because of invasive bladder cancer. The ileal
neobladder described by Studer has been created in 13 cases. The rest of the patients had
ileal conduit created. In 3 patients with vesico-vaginal fistula (following radioterapy of
cervical cancer) and in 1 case with colorectal cancer ileal conduit has been done.
In 1 patient with hyperchloremic acidosis following ureterosigmoidistomy the type of
derivation has been changed. Upper urinary tract dilatation has been observed in 7
patients on left-hand side, in 3 patients on right-hand side and in 3 patients on both sides.
Conclusion. The incidence of upper urinary tract dilatation on early postoperative
IVP has been found more fre±uently on left-hand side.
