Objective. The aim of the study was the estimation of the usefulness of usg-color-
doppler and cancer markers: CEA, Ca-125 and ferritin in the early detection of the
recurrence of RCC.
Material and method. In 43 patients with RCC radical nephrectomy was performed.
Before and after operation cancer markers: CEA, Ca-125 and ferritin were estimated.
Usg-color-doppler examination of the renal yessels (arteria and vena) in the postoperative
period were done.
Results. In usg-color-doppler examination circuling blood in renal yessels was
observed in 12 cases. In 6 cases the recurrence of RCC was diagnosed. The elevated
level of CEA after operation was observed in 16,6%, CA-125 in 35% and ferritin in
75% of patients with circuling blood in the yessels of renal pedicle.
Conclusions. The circuling blood in the yessels of renal pedicle obseryed in usg-
color-doppler examination and the elevation of the levels of cancer markers: CEA, Ca-
125 and ferritin are often connected with the possibility of RCC recurrence.
