summary

A case of successful vasectomy reversal 13 years after bilateral vasectomy is presented. Bilateral two-layer 6-0 prolene anastomosis over 15 mm of 4-0 catgut splints was performed using 3x magnification glasses (loupe). One year after surgery at least one anastomosis is patent, sperms are present in the semen and patient's partner is pregnant. Surgical treatment of male post-vasectomy infertility is much cheaper than in vitro fertilization with micromanipulation (MESA/TESA+ISCI) while the success rate of vasovasostomy is higher than ICSI. Although vasectomy is banned in Poland we may expect increased number of patients seeking vasectomy reversal as Poland joins EU.
