summary

Author presents contemporary theories of the embriological development
and new classification of the posterior urethral valves. In support to the
literature and 140 boys with valves, cured in the Department of Pediatric
Urology, author divides there lesions into two types: classic valves and
membrane valves. Understanding valves pathophysiology allowed to diminish
mortality up 1% (1 decease in 140 boys with posterior urethral valves).
