Objective. The aim of the study was to evaluate the results of the treatment
of ureteric stones with the electrohydraulic lithotrypsy.
Patients and method. From 1994 to 1999 55 patients with ureteric stones
have been treated with electrohydraulic lithotrypsy. The duration of the
disease, localization of calaculi, hospitalization stay and radiological findings
were evaluated.
Results- Out of 55 patients in 53 cases good results have been achieved (96,4%).
The average time of operation was 76,2 minutes. The average hospital duration
stay 13 days.
Conclusion. Electrohydraulic lithotrypsy for ureteric stones is an efficient
and safe method of treatment of ureteric stones.
