summary

This paper presents medical and juridical aspects of kidney transplantations from living donors as well as a problem of elongate time of waiting for transplantation. Risk factors related to kidney transplantation from cadaveric donor (CD) and living donor (LD) were compared. High indexes of organ recipients survival and low risk for living donor predispose to large use of this method in the treatment of end stage renal disease (ESRD). The development of the program of live donors kidney transplantations is related to its popularization in medical environment and public promotion.
