Ditropan (oxybutynine chloride) in the treatment of distability of the urinary bladder

Presented here are the results of treatment of detrusos distability with oxybutynine chloride (diotropan). The study involved 30 patients, ages 8-57 (mean age 43.8) including 22 females and 8 males with neurogenic distability in 8, idiopathic in 6, and in 6 patients with concurrent subvesical obstruction.
Ditropan was administered at the dose of 3 x 5 mg for 4 weeks. Regression of distability symptoms, both clinical and cystometrię, was found in 73.3% of patients. Side effects in the form of dryness of mucous membrane occured in 70% of patients.
