summary

The authors describe a case of periurethral cyst in a woman aged 48 years causing pains during miction and tenderness when the urethra was palpated from the vestibule.

Despite these rather typical signs the patient had been treated for many years unsuccessfully. Cooperative examination of the patient by an urologist and a gynaecologist, for the first time in her disease, led finally to establishing of correct diagnosis.

The authors suggest that in difficult cases such consultative examinations should be carried out really simultaneously by these specialists.
