summary

The author reviews modern views on the aetiopathogenesis of simple renal cysts and discusses the methods of diagnosis and treatment in such cases reporting the results of cyst tapping 121 cases. The author believes that percutaneous punc-ture of the kidney should be done in each case with suspected cyst after uro-graphy, ultrasonography or computer tomography, and in cases of non-vascula-rized tumours demonstrated by angiography.
