summary

A group of 83 men had 111 transperitoneal ultrasonogra.phically monitored biop-sies of the prostatic gland. In 52 patients (63,0%) examined, the author found a his-topathological confirmation of adenocarcinoma. The only complication was a short­-term haematuria suffered by 4.8% of patients. The above procedure is significant progress in diagnosing prostatic carcinoma.
