summary
- In 120 patients with prostatic adenoma the tightness of ureteral orifices was examined before and after electroresection of the adenoma through the urethra. In 13 cases vesicoureteral reflux was present before the procedure, in 7 out of the remaining 107 cases it developed after the resection (6.5%). In all cases the re-flux developing after resection was unilateral, usually grade I. The reflux associated with adenoma or developing after its removal were transient and disappeared usually 4.6 months after the procedure. They were more fre±uent in cases of large adenoma and with Considerable trabeculation of bladder wall. The re-flux had no effect on the postoperative course.
