summary

The objective of the study was observation of changes taking place in the tissues after injection of teflon paste and collagen gel (Zyplast Implant) below the bladder mucosa, The study was done on 18 rabbits, the follow-up was from 4 to 36 weeks. On the basis of autopsy examinations and histological examinations both substances were found to remain at the site of their injection throughout the whole follow-up without evoking any adverse reaction of the tissues. Teflon paste and collagen gel served as a biological supporting frame for the newly developing connective tissue. Both substances may be useful for injections through the urethra under the submucosal part of the ureter forelimination of vesicoure-teral reflux.
