summary

We present the case of papillary cancer in a horseshoe kidney. A woman of 53 years of age was admitted to the hospital with asymptomatic tumor of the left kidney, incidentally found in ultrasonography of the abdomen carried out due to biliary calculosis. In computer tomography (CT) of the abdomen a pathological mass of 8 x 6 x 6 cm, growing out of the anterior lip of the left side of horseshoe kidney was shown. No sign of distant metastasis was found. The patient was operated on. The left part of the horseshoe kidney with tumor and parenchymatous isthmus, also the gall bladder were excised. After surgery the patient is free of cancer and the right part of the horseshoe kidney functions normally.
