summary

P.U.J obstruction constitutes the most common form of upper urinary tract obstruc-
tion in children. The operative procedure has been used almost exclusively in recent
years to treat P.U.J obstruction, however this is a dismembered operation of the Anderson-
Hynes. Encouraged by our success in adult patients, and by success of Wickham 1983
and others with endopyelotomy (4,9,10), we performed endopyelotomy in two children
with secondary P.U.J. stenosis (14 year-oldboy and 7 year-old girl). Post endopyeloto-
my splint was left for 8 and 6 weeks respectively. I.V.P. performed after 6 and 48 months
showed good results in the boy and 6 months I.V.P. showed persistent obstruction in the
girl, who was later treated by pyeloplasty operation with good results.
