summary

Retrospective analysis of the results of extracorporeal lithotripsy in 1569 patients was done. Performed were 2357 procedures. There were 23.5% calculi in the upper calyx, and 60.5% in die lower calyx.
The size of crushed stones was limited to 20 mm and the number of procedures to 3. ESWL was repeated twice in 32.5% of patients and three times in 4.6%. The largest amount of stones was crushed in the upper and lateral calyxes, 76,1% and 70.9% respectively, less in the lower calyx — 54.0%. The procedure was curative in 64.6% of patients.
