summary

The authors report a case of compression of the inferior caval vein by a Solitary renal cyst. The diagnostic difficulties and the necessity of rapid surgical inter-vention in the case of cyst infection or appearance of sings of inferior caval vein compression are stressed. Early lumbotomy prevents complications. This operation is indicated also in diagnostically difficult and doubtful cases.
