kidney renal diseases ultrasound examination in urology ultrasound contrast agents

summary

Introduction. At present contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) is not officially recommended in any diagnostic algorithm of renal
diseases. However the need for better visualization effected that many studies have been rolled to estimate diagnostic usefulness of
CEUS in renal diseases.
The aim of the study. The aim of this study is to demonstrate possibilities of CEUS in diagnostics of renal trauma, renal vascular
diseases, transplanted kidney, acute pyelonephritis.
Methods. The cited data were obtained from both original and review papers published in the urological and imaging descriptions.
Conclusions. In the accessible literature a very high diagnostic accuracy of CEUS with reference methods has been reported. CEUS is a
safe method, has mobile equipment, and can be used when there are contraindications for contrast-enhanced computed tomography
renal failure, allergy to radiological contrast media, thyroid diseases
