summary

A case of centrally localised neoplasmatic right kidney tumor coexisting with hypoplasia of the left kidney is presented. Authors undertook an attempt of minimally invasive termoablation treatment of the tumor and after its failure decided to perform partial nephrectomy. It was combined with simultaneous by-pass of the left renal artery stricture believed to be the reason of hypoplasia. Post-operative treatment was uneventful. Authors conclude that good final result of the treatment confirms that nowadays it is essential to always consider nephron-sparing procedures in cases of solitary kidney tumors. They also underline potential benefits of developing new minimally invasive methods like termoablation and proved efficacy of partial nephrectomy.
