summary
- We present the rare case of the patient with retroperitoneal tumor arising from the prostate gland. We describe our diagnostic strategy
- and the therapeutic management for the recurrence of a tumor presented in pelvis 3 months after the surgery. The patient underwent
- the open retropubic radical prostatectomy, during which the tumor was totally removed. In histopathological examination the
- extremely rare Stromal Tumor of Uncertain Malignant Potential (STUMP), a lesion arising from specialized cells of prostatic stroma was
- described. The treatment of STUMP constitutes a challenge for physicians specializing in various fields including urologists, surgeons,
- radiologists and patomorphologists. Further research and creating the guidelines for treatment of this disease are needed.
