summary

We present the rare case of the patient with retroperitoneal tumor arising from the prostate gland. We describe our diagnostic strategy
and the therapeutic management for the recurrence of a tumor presented in pelvis 3 months after the surgery. The patient underwent
the open retropubic radical prostatectomy, during which the tumor was totally removed. In histopathological examination the
extremely rare Stromal Tumor of Uncertain Malignant Potential (STUMP), a lesion arising from specialized cells of prostatic stroma was
described. The treatment of STUMP constitutes a challenge for physicians specializing in various fields including urologists, surgeons,
radiologists and patomorphologists. Further research and creating the guidelines for treatment of this disease are needed.
